You may be asked for a Covid-19 immunization certificate connected to your passport if you are traveling outside of India for school, work, or the Tokyo Olympic Games.
How do I connect my passport to my vaccination record?
Step 1: Log in to your account on the official CoWIN website
if you have already been vaccinated with a different photo ID
(www.cowin.gov.in).
Step 2: In the "Account Details" area, click the
"Raise Issue" button once you've logged in.
Step 3: There are three alternatives available: Certificate
Correction, Merge Multiple Dose #1 Provisional Certificates and Add Passport
Details. Select "Add Passport Details" from the drop-down menu.
You will only be able to modify the certificate photo ID data
once, so make sure you input the right passport number.
Step 5: Tick the box that says "I declare that this
passport belongs to the beneficiary" after you've double-checked the
passport number to make sure it's correct. The passport holder's name matches
the name on the vaccination certificate.”
Step 6: Return to the Account Details page and click the
"Certificate" button next to the account name to which you've
supplied passport information. Following the instructions, you will feel confident enough in downloading the certificate of vaccination.
Note: If you haven't registered with CoWIN yet but expect to
travel soon, you can use your passport as your photo ID evidence when you do
so.
Why should my vaccination certificate be linked to my passport?
If you are traveling outside of India to study, work, or
attend the Tokyo Olympic Games, you will almost certainly be requested for a
vaccine certificate that is connected to your passport, particularly at the
point of departure.
This will aid officials in verifying that you are leaving India only after receiving full Covid-19 vaccination.
